This stage can be solved with wiring alone.

Goals

  • IN1 = H, IN2 = L: spin forward (10,000 rpm or more)
  • IN1 = L, IN2 = H: spin backward (−10,000 rpm or less)
  • While it spins, IN1 = IN2 = H stops it within 0.5 s
  • While it spins, IN1 = IN2 = L stops it within 0.5 s

Rules

  • Never turn a top and bottom FET on together (shoot-through)
  • Keep the FETs under their voltage rating (20 V)
  • Don't leave a FET's gate floating
  • Don't let the FETs overheat
  • Keep IN1's and IN2's current to 20 mA
  • No short circuits
